Interview with Eddie Curtis at Ceramic Art London

Whilst at ceramic arts London, I managed to get a quick interview with Eddie Curtis. There were some similarities in his thinking around his work. We discussed the fact that his father worked in the mines in the northeast and that he would go with him to collect his wages. They would pass a spoil tip from the mine (which went out into the sea) and the work he makes references the surfaces he remembers as a child. ( the spoil tip is the same one in the film 'Get carter' at the end) I couldn't persuade him to discuss his working process and materials other than the fact that he used different 'slurries' for the surfaces he gets.
