So pleased to be staying here for my Birthday...(clever wife!) She predominantly booked us in for general art appreciation and STEAK. However, I was not expecting to come across the work of Ulrich Rückriem. I keep seeming to stumble upon people who others probably know who are in the correct discipline, but I keep straddling between disciplines with my ideas. Straying away from the confines(?) of painting.

The rock columns are intense in many ways. They demand your attention with their scale and weight, they talk of craftsmanship but seemingly have very little in the way of work to the surface. They stand along the drive like immovable sentinels. Waiting.
