So alice Lyons brought in some of her pottery finds handling collection. She brought in today a few pieces of roman mortaria found in this region. what is interesting is the use of ground flint in the pots surface. it called to mind my fascination with the way the flint had shattered in the firing i did outdoors. How this would have been thrown into the surface is intriguing.
